Konami’s July 9, 2026 LiveUpdate for eFootball 2026 has been folded into the offline game database, bringing a wave of 2026 FIFA World Cup content to both online and offline modes.
What’s new
- World Cup intro cinematic — the game’s default intro has been replaced with the official 2026 FIFA World Cup cinematic.
- Officially licensed referee kits — Adidas referee uniforms for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are now in the game.
- Animated World Cup advertising boards — stadium ad boards now display animated 2026 FIFA World Cup branding during matches.
- Updated national team rosters — several national squads have received roster refreshes to reflect current call-ups.
- 48 licensed national team kits — official kits are now available for all 48 nations competing at the World Cup, up from the previous 32-team tournament format.
Why it matters
This is primarily a presentation and licensing update rather than a gameplay-balance patch — no dribbling, passing, or AI defense changes are listed. If you’re grinding Dream Team or online matches for World Cup-specific challenges, expect the new kits and boards to show up immediately after updating; the roster changes may shift a handful of player ratings on affected national teams.
How to update
eFootball 2026 updates automatically on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam the next time you launch the game with an internet connection. Mobile players on iOS/Android will be prompted to update via their respective app stores.
Note: several unofficial “ePatch 2026” community mod packages are circulating online with different version numbers — those are third-party fan patches, not official Konami updates, and aren’t covered here.
