Most PUBG Mobile weapon tier lists rank guns as if the meta were static. It isn’t, and right now it’s moved further than usual: a sweeping recoil reduction across every DMR turned a whole weapon class from a niche pick into a legitimate primary, and AR-DMR pairings now show up in roughly 80% of professional final-circle loadouts.
So this tier list is built around that. Guns are ranked inside their class, because an S-tier sniper and an S-tier SMG aren’t competing for the same slot, and the section at the end on which pairings actually work matters more for your rank than any single gun’s placement.
The current meta, briefly
Three things define it.
DMRs became primaries. The recoil reduction is the single biggest balance change in recent memory. Weapons you used to pick up only if you found a 6x are now viable from the moment you land, and the Mini-14 in particular has gone from a filler gun to a genuine meta pick.
The AR floor is still the M416. Nothing has dislodged it. It doesn’t top the damage charts and it doesn’t need to — it’s the most forgiving gun in the game with a full attachment set, which is why it sits near an 85% pick rate among pros.
Close range belongs to the MP5K. If you’re fighting inside buildings, the SMG class has a clear top pick, and it isn’t the Vector any more.
PUBG Mobile weapon tier list at a glance

Ranked within each class. A gun’s tier reflects how reliably it wins fights at its intended range with realistic attachments — not its raw damage number.

Assault rifles: the M416 still sets the floor
The M416 is the most-picked gun in competitive PUBG Mobile and it earns that on handling, not damage. Base damage sits around 39-41 depending on which stat source you trust, which is below the AKM — but it takes every attachment slot in the game, and a fully kitted M416 has recoil so manageable that you can hold a 6x on it at range and still spray at ten metres. It is the safe answer to almost every situation.
The M762 (Beryl) is the higher ceiling. Around 46 damage per shot and roughly 535 DPS makes it the hardest-hitting ground-loot AR, and if you can control the recoil it beats the M416 in a straight duel. That “if” is doing real work: the M762 punishes bad trigger discipline harder than anything else in the class. Burst it, don’t spray it.
The AKM hits hardest per bullet of the common ARs (around 47-48) but the vertical climb and the limited attachment support keep it in A-tier. It’s a strong early-game gun that you generally trade up from.
The AUG is genuinely excellent — high bullet velocity, unusually stable — and several tier lists put it at the very top. The reason it isn’t S-tier here is availability: on the maps where it’s crate-restricted you cannot plan a loadout around it, and a gun you can’t reliably find shouldn’t outrank one you can.
DMRs: the class that actually changed
This is the section most tier lists skip, and it’s where the current meta actually lives.
A recoil reduction of roughly 60% across the DMR class changed what these guns are for. They used to be a compromise — slower than an AR, weaker than a sniper. Now they’re a primary weapon that happens to also do the sniper’s job.
The Mini-14 is the breakout. A damage buff to around 48 plus the highest muzzle velocity in its class (roughly 990 m/s) means that inside 100 metres you barely have to lead a moving target — it’s close enough to hitscan that it changes how you take mid-range fights. It has a large magazine and almost no recoil after the buff.
The SLR is the damage option: harder hitting than the Mini-14, more recoil, still very controllable now. The MK14 is the crate king and can fire full-auto, which is genuinely unfair in the right hands, but it’s airdrop-only so you can’t plan around it.
The practical consequence: an AR plus a DMR now covers close, mid and long range from a single loadout. That’s why roughly 80% of pro final-circle loadouts run that pairing, and it’s the single most useful thing on this page for climbing ranked.
Snipers: the M24 is still the one you’ll actually have
The AWM tops every list and is airdrop-only, so treat it as a bonus rather than a plan. It one-shots a level 3 helmet, which nothing else in the game does.
The M24 is the best sniper you can realistically find as ground loot. It one-shots a level 2 helmet, which is the practical threshold in most fights. The Kar98K hits slightly softer but reloads faster and is far more common — a perfectly good weapon that ranks below the M24 only because the M24 exists.
Honest note: with the DMR buff, a bolt-action is now a harder sell than it used to be. A Mini-14 that lets you follow up a missed shot immediately often beats a Kar98K that punishes the miss with a reload animation.
SMGs: MP5K, then a gap
The MP5K is the S-tier close-range gun — high fire rate, controllable, and it takes enough attachments to stay accurate past the range SMGs normally fall apart at.
The UMP45 is the sensible A-tier alternative and arguably the better pick for newer players: near-zero recoil, high per-shot damage for the class, and it behaves like a small AR with SMG handling speed. In building fights it is very hard to misuse.
The Vector has fallen off. Enormous fire rate, but the magazine empties before it kills unless you’re running the extended mag, and even then it’s unforgiving. B-tier.
Airdrop weapons: the Groza is still the prize
The Groza is the gun people die fighting over, and reasonably so — around 48 damage at roughly 0.08s intervals puts it near 600 DPS, the highest sustained close-range output in the game. It uses AKM ammo and takes very few attachments, which matters less than it sounds because it barely needs them.
The M249 is a trap more often than it’s a win. 100 rounds is fun and the DPS is real, but you cannot move well with it and you cannot use it to fight a competent squad in the open.
The loadout that actually works

Tier lists are less useful than pairings. Three that hold up in ranked:
- M416 + Mini-14 — the current default. Covers everything from ten metres to three hundred, and neither gun demands rare attachments.
- M762 + M24 — the aggressive version. Higher damage ceiling at close range, real sniping at long. Punishes bad recoil control.
- MP5K + SLR — the building-heavy option for maps like Livik and Miramar’s town fights, where most engagements are decided inside twenty metres.
What all three have in common is range coverage. The most common ranked mistake isn’t picking a B-tier gun, it’s picking two guns that do the same job and then losing a fight at a range you had no answer for.
Why weapon stats disagree between sites
Worth knowing if you compare tier lists: the numbers genuinely don’t match across sources. You’ll see the AKM at both 47 and 48 base damage, the M416 at 39 and 41, and the M762 listed under both names.
Three reasons. PUBG Mobile and PC PUBG are different games with separately balanced weapon tables, and plenty of stat pages mix them. Balance patches move the numbers and most tier lists aren’t re-dated when they’re refreshed. And base damage isn’t what kills you — effective damage depends on the armour you’re shooting at, where you hit, and range falloff, so two guns with identical base damage can have very different time-to-kill.
Treat exact numbers as approximate and the relative ordering as the useful signal. That’s also why this list ranks by how reliably a gun wins its intended fight rather than by a damage column.
FAQ
What is the best gun in PUBG Mobile right now?
The M416 for reliability — it’s near an 85% pick rate among professional players thanks to its attachment support and forgiving recoil. For raw close-range damage the Groza is stronger, but it’s airdrop-only.
What is the best assault rifle in PUBG Mobile?
M416 if you want consistency, M762 (Beryl) if you can control recoil and want the higher damage ceiling at around 46 per shot. The AKM hits hardest of the common ARs but climbs harder.
Are DMRs good in PUBG Mobile now?
Yes, and this is the biggest recent change. A roughly 60% recoil reduction across the class turned DMRs into viable primaries. The Mini-14 in particular, with a damage buff to around 48 and roughly 990 m/s muzzle velocity, is near-hitscan inside 100 metres.
What is the best sniper in PUBG Mobile?
The AWM, but it’s airdrop-only. The best sniper you’ll realistically find is the M24, which one-shots a level 2 helmet. The Kar98K is the common alternative and reloads faster.
Is the Vector still good?
Not really. Its fire rate is extreme but the magazine runs dry before the kill without an extended mag. The MP5K and UMP45 are both better close-range picks.
What’s the best weapon pairing for ranked?
M416 plus Mini-14 is the current default because it covers close, mid and long range without needing rare attachments. The common mistake is carrying two guns that cover the same range.
